Hubert Scholars Program: This internal program for academic internships in public service allows students to design an internship to participate in humanitarian service either at home or abroad. Contact Isa Williams, Experiential Learning, for more information. This undergraduate award of up to $7,500 annually is available to rising juniors and seniors studying science or mathematics. Applicants must have maintained at least a “B” average and be US citizens or resident aliens intending to pursue citizenship. Nomination by the college is required. Iota Sigma Pi Undergraduate Award for Excellence in Chemistry ($500 for an outstanding woman chemistry senior, must be nominated by chemistry department). B. Iota Sigma Pi Gladys Anderson Emerson Scholarship ($2000 for an outstanding woman chemistry/biochemistry junior, must be nominated by a member of Iota Sigma Pi). C. Members-at-Large (MAL) Reentry Award ($1500 for a woman chemist/biochemist returning to college after at least a 3-yr break, must be nominated by a member of Iota Sigma Pi). American Chemical Society (ACS) Scholars Program: A scholars program designed to be a catalyst for African American, Hispanic/Latino and American Indian students seeking to pursue undergraduate college degrees in chemical sciences and chemical technology. Awards can be up to $3000 per year. National Organization for the Professional Advancement of Black Chemists and Chemical Engineers (NOBCChE) – Undergraduate Research Award: Chemistry undergraduates submit abstracts and papers on their research and the best 6 are invited to attend the NOBCChE Annual Conference to give an oral presentation of their research (all expenses paid). There will then be a first place award of $1000 and second place award of $750. There will also be an offer of a paid summer internship at Rohm and Haas Company to each of the eligible finalists. Xerox – The Technical Minority Scholarship Program: For Chemistry and Physics students. The award could be $1,000 - $10,000 depending on tuition balance, academic excellence and classification. |

Mary Angela Herbin McLennan Medical Fellowship: This internal fellowship is awarded to one or more Agnes Scott graduate(s) enrolling in medical school for the upcoming year. Jenkins Predoctoral Fellowship Program: This NASA-sponsored graduate fellowship for study in science and mathematics offers tuition offset starting at $8,500, and annual stipends starting at $16,000 for master’s programs and $22,000 for doctoral programs. American Institute of Aeronautics & Astronautics Fellowship: This graduate award of either $5,000 or $10,000 annually is available to students pursuing studies in science or engineering, especially in fields related to space technologies. Applicants must become AIAA members. American Meteorological Society Fellowship: This graduate fellowship is open to US citizens with at least a 3.25 cumulative GPA. Applicants must study or intend to pursue a career in meteorological science, oceanic science, or hydrologic science. Fellows receive a $22,000 annual stipend. Environmental Protection Agency STAR Fellowships: US citizens or permanent residents pursuing graduate degrees in environmentally related fields of study may receive up to $37,000 annually for up to three years. Women, minorities, and the disabled are “strongly encouraged to apply.” Ford Foundation Fellowship for Minorities: Minority Fellows must be enrolled in a PhD or ScD program and plan to pursue a teaching or research career at the university level. Fellows are awarded a $17,000 stipend and a $6,000 cost of education allowance annually for 3 years. National Defense Science and Engineering Graduate Fellowship: US Citizens and nationals pursuing graduate study of mathematical, physical, biological, ocean or engineering sciences may apply for this award of approximately $28,000 annually. Women, minorities, and the disabled are encouraged to apply. National Physical Science Consortium Graduate Fellowship: Students pursuing PhDs in Astronomy, Chemistry, Computer Science, Geology, Materials Science, Mathematical Sciences, Physics, their sub-disciplines, or related engineering fields and attending a participating university may apply for this fellowship. Applicants must have at least a 3.0 GPA and be US citizens. Fellows receive a $16,000 annual stipend for up to 6 years (reevaluated annually). Applications must be completed online. National Science Foundation Graduate Fellowship: Applicants must be enrolled in a research-based master’s or doctoral program in the sciences. Fellows receive a $10,500 cost of education allowance and a $30,000 stipend annually for 3 years. Semiconductor Research Corporation Master's Scholarship & Graduate Fellowship: Applicants must pursue a graduate degree involving research relevant to microelectronics and attend a participating university. Both programs pay a student’s tuition and fees and award a monthly stipend of $1,850. US DOE Computational Science Graduate Fellowship: Graduate students studying science or mathematics may apply for this fellowship. Fellows receive a $28,000 annual stipend and full payment of tuition and fees. Only US citizens and permanent residents are eligible to apply. Fellows must spend summers taking classes, engaged in research, or on practicum assignments (one of which must be completed at a DOE laboratory). |
